Chapter 3.4 Wildlife Tributes

Wildlife Tributes
Wildlife claims will gain favor as they use spells to increase resource and creature stats in the ecosystem. A way to increase this, is to also gain favor by having resources harvested/hunted by others. To visually direct players, and monsters is with tributes, which also buffs the stats. Tribute spells make resources glow. A tribute will break if a wildlife claim player of the same species tries to collect it. Tributes that are not compatible with you will glow fainter. This shows it is tributed for context. Tributes can be set on resources and creatures of the same species as their claim.

Resource Tributes
Stats that increase favor are older resources, later evolutions, increased stats, and special traits. By tributing a resource it will give an increase to these buffs. Players will want to seek out tributed resources to increase their crafting and equipment bonuses.

Creature Tributes
Since there is a max herd and pack size, it is best practice to drop herd and pack members to make room. Stats that increase favor are older age, increased stats, and special traits. By tributing a creature, it will drop from your herd/pack and return to its natural state, and it will not be able to be added to another player's herd/pack. Players can pre-strategize this by dropping members as room is needed, or can target a member that is currently being attacked by a monster, player, or NPC, to guarantee favor collection.

Changing Tribute Limitations
Wildlife players are limited to only have a set amount of tributes active at a time, so they should strategize placing these where it will be collected. Players can remove these at any time, unless an interaction has occurred. In these cases, a player, NPC, or monster is collecting it. In cases of incomplete collections, the resource needs to heal fully first before the tribute can be removed or edited. This ensures that players that were merely interrupted by a monster, or other context, can continue harvesting after clearing it. Wildlife claims can also tribute resources that are in the process of being collected. (NPC are not able to specifically see tributes, but can still collect them.)

Monsters Consuming Tributes
Tributes can be consumed by monsters, and monsters that have taken on tributes will have a slight glow to them. For until the resource is in their stomachs or on their bodies, they will obtain the buffs to their body resources (loot). Once the tributed resource disappears, the tribute has worn off. Tributes can stack, and the glow can intensify for highly tributed monsters. Fighting will pause the countdown timer. These monsters will also be a little stronger than usual per tribute obtained. Nature based players will still obtain favor for these collections, whether intentional or not.
